Alvin's Main PC System

Though I am very intrigued by the non-standard PC Cases, of which you can find a few elsewhere on this  site, I suppose the box-pc-case has it's merits.

For one thing, it uses the space very well, which is nice when it becomes part of a workspace.

So some of my PC Modz that I see or use most in a day, is not even directly related to the pc case it self.
It's my keyboard, and a few details about my computer workspace.

Below desk: My PC - Above desk: A phone, my keyboard and mouse.

As you might have guessed, I like Blue! So I painted the dark parts of the tools I use at my workspace to be blue.

As it turned out, the only blue spray paint that I could easily find, and that I like, was a transparent glass spray. So I had to paint every dark part white first.

In a few days of use it became obvious that the transparent blue is also very fragile, and where your hands touch, it wore off in a few days.
Well, cleaning with acetone removed the bad spots. But help..... it also dissolved some of the plastic, so it now has a slightly different texture. And... the blue paint can only be coated lightly twice, or it completely changes color!!!

I suppose this is part of what modding is all about: Living and Experiencing, to hopefully learn something.

See Lighted Keyboard to see how I have added a battery operated aqua blue neon wire to add glow to the keyboard.

Here is a another picture, where I have turned off the flash on the camera. Seems to be very different colors, but in real life they are actually the same.

As this computer is part of the workspace, it is still neutral in the appearance, and most of the mods are inside.
The whole Mod idea started out with a "screaming" desire to silence the machine! For this see the Silence!!! page.

Currently the front only has three visible Modz. The thermometer, the LCD and a Front USB port

The Power On indicator has been fitted with blue LEDs. The indicator light is a nice Plexiglas ring, around the on/off button.
I have a LED page which shows a simple diagram for adding higher voltage from a standard LED to the new high bright LEDs.
